- 10-15 puzzles per day.
- No guessing. Yan should say the candidate move and why.
- Track accuracy, not just puzzle count.
- Re-do missed puzzles after 48 hours.

- Is my king safe?
For Yan, this should become automatic. Do not make it a lecture. Use one phrase before practice games: CCT before move: checks, captures, threats.

- Same day: write score, result, and one feeling.
- Next day: review the most important position from each game.
- Parent feedback begins with one thing he did well.

Yan does not need a huge repertoire yet. He needs a small system he understands.

- For each opening: know the first 6-8 moves, the pawn structure, and the typical plan.
The goal is not memorization. The goal is reaching playable middlegames without panic.

- Repeat until the result is clear without hints.

- Starting with rating change.
- Reviewing every mistake at once.
- Comparing him with Tony or other kids.
- Turning every casual game into a lesson.
- Increasing online blitz after a bad tournament as compensation.
